SOLD OUT – Jazz Ensemble I & II

Under the direction of Wes Parker and Jason Foureman, the Jazz Ensembles I & II will perform two special Valentine’s Day concerts on Feb. 14 and 15 at 7:00 p.m. in the Titmus Theatre at Thompson Hall. Enjoy an evening of Latin and swing songs with a love theme, including Charles Mingus’s “Love Chant,” Cole Porter’s “Love for Sale” and Don Gibson’s “I Can’t Stop Loving You” (popularly performed by Count Bassie, Roy Orbison, Frank Sinatra and many others), plus much more.

PMC Lecture: Women, Music and the Art of Survival in Post-Colonial Korea

Joshua Pilzer is a scholar of Korean and Japanese music. He is the author of Hearts of Pine: Songs in the Lives of Three Korean Survivors of the Japanese ‘Comfort Women’ (2012) and is currently finishing another ethnographic book on the musicality of everyday life among Korean victims of the atomic bombing of Japan and their children.
