Saxophonist Joel Frahm gives free public master class on Feb. 1

Jazz saxophonist Joel Frahm will present a performance and master class on Feb. 1 from 4:30-6:00 p.m. Joining him will be the Jason Foureman trio: Kobie Watkins on drums, Keith Ganz on guitar and Jason Foreman on bass.

Named a rising star by Downbeat Magazine, Frahm is a regular of the New York City club circuit. The event is free an open to the public and will take place in Price Music Center room 101, located at 2620 Cates Ave. in Raleigh.

A regular on the New York City club circuit, Frahm has appeared alongside musicians such as Brad Mehldau, Bill Charlap and Matt Wilson and has recorded with Diane Schuur, Kurt Elling, Jane Monheit and other top jazz artists. Fans know him for his big tenor sound — fluid, inventive and filled with passion.
