Grains of Time, North Carolina’s oldest all-male collegiate a cappella group founded in 1968, are celebrating their 50th anniversary this year. To celebrate five decades of Grains, they’re putting together a special concert where the 2018-19 Grains will take the stage alongside alumni groups dating back all the way to the original founding members.

Over the decades, the group has undergone many changes, including broadening their repertoire from choral music and ‘oldies’ to pop, country, hip-hop and R&B, as well as becoming a student-led organization. What remains the same is perhaps what best defines them – a sense of unity and brotherhood that transcends time.

Join us on December 1 to celebrate 50 years of Grains.

TICKETS

$10 adults, $8 seniors, $5 students, children under 12 free. Available for purchase at the door or in advance through Ticket Central, 919-515-1100 (open 1-6pm, Mon-Fri). Tickets are available online.

INFORMATION FOR GRAINS ALUMNI

All alumni have the opportunity to perform in two group numbers, “Ave Maria” and “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot.” If you wish to participate in these pieces, please email grains50anniversary@gmail.com.

Preceding the concert, alumni and families will have the chance to catch up and reminisce at an exclusive alumni mixer, from 4:30-6:00 p.m. in the 1887 Bistro. The Bistro is conveniently located in Talley Student Union, on the same floor as Stewart Theater, and will feature a buffet-style dinner with two vouchers for wine and beer.

We strongly suggest purchasing tickets and RSVPing for the alumni mixer in advance, as both events are expected to sell out. A link to RSVP for the mixer will be available here by 11/19.
