Swiss Saxophonist Laurent Estoppey joins forces with guitarist Robert Nathanson for a program of contemporary works for the duo plus music for saxophone and tape, and other surprises.
Laurent Estoppey studied saxophone at the Conservatory of Lausanne, Switzerland. Estoppey has devoted himself primarily to contemporary music. Numerous collaborations with composers have led him to create at least one hundred works. His musical activity is divided occurs throughout Switzerland and many European countries, but also in Canada, USA, Argentina, Guatemala and South Africa. He works with the following orchestras: Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Lausanne Chamber Orchestra, Basel Symphony, and many others. Estoppey has also founded and developed several chamber music groups.
Robert Nathanson, classical and baroque guitarist, is an active recitalist and orchestral soloist, now focusing mostly as an ensemble performer giving concerts throughout the United States, as well as performances in Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, Spain, Austria, Slovenia, and Canada. He is Professor of Music at UNC-Wilmington and Artistic Director for PRO MUSICA, a concert series celebrating the music of living composers. A Liscio Recording artist,.he has released two solo CDs and appeared on CDs of music for guitar and saxophone and guitar, saxophone, and voice.
