Band Day draws record-breaking 500-plus high school students

October 15, 2018

The music department hosted its largest-ever high school Band Day on Sept. 8, with more than 500 high school students in attendance. Participants spent a day immersed in the experience of marching with a Division I collegiate band, including a morning rehearsal and lunch with the NC State Marching Band, tickets to the football game and a half-time performance on the field at Carter-Finley Stadium.

11/9 Jazz Ensemble I Fall Concert

Conducted by Dr. Wes Parker, the 19-member Jazz Ensemble I will perform its fall concert on Friday, Nov. 9, featuring swing, be-bop and contemporary jazz music. 

11/7 Wind Ensemble Fall Concert

October 13, 2018

Conducted by Dr. Paul Garcia, the Wind Ensemble will perform its fall concert on Wednesday, Nov. 7. The ensemble will perform Darius Milhaud’s Suite Français, the overture to Candide and Gustav Holst’s First Suite in E-Flat.
